Signatory Vintage 4 Miniature Collection

Regular price $378.00

This 4-bottle presentation set contains whiskies from Linkwood, Port Ellen, Highland Park, and Glen Mhor, and vintages ranging from 1975 to 1984. An impressive range of expressions from well-loved distilleries.

The miniatures are as follows:

- Highland Park 1975 20 Year Old Signatory Vintage

- Glen Mhor 1979 16 Year Old Signatory Vintage

- Port Ellen 1982 13 Year Old Signatory Vintage

- Linkwood 1984 11 Year Old Signatory Vintage

In very good condition. Labels are crisp and fill levels are in the mid-neck, which is impressive for miniatures of this age.

Linkwood Distillery

Linkwood Distillery is located in Speyside and was established in 1821. It has long been used in blends and has more recently been bottled as a single malt under the watchful eye of Diageo. Old & rare Linkwood whiskies have also been bottled by the likes of Gordon & Macphail.

Port Ellen Distillery

Diageo announced the reopening of Port Ellen way back in 2017 and fans of the distillery have been waiting excitedly since then. Finally rescheduled for re-opening in 2023, Port Ellen has garnered a cult following that is delighted by the news, and by the knock-on impact on the value of vintage bottles on the secondary market.

When Port Ellen closed in 1983 its original stills were lost, which is always going to be the biggest point of contention for Port Ellen drinkers and analysts in the future, how close could the distillate really be? Rumoured to only produce 500,000 litres per year for the first decade of production, Port Ellen will be something to really focus on as people prepare to compare old and new in the next few years.

Highland Park Distillery

A distillery with a huge reputation and has links, in many ways, to the priesthood (former owners who wanted to sell as it conflicted with their views), smuggling (Magnus Eunson – the original operator of illicit stills on site) and being part of the single malt whisky explosion before the 1980s. Highland Distillers invested heavily in Highland Park throughout a lot of the late 1970s, making its sales compete with some of the biggest in the world. Highland Park is now owned by The Edrington Group and boasts one of the first and best visitor’s centres in all of whisky, an education area, and a wealth of whiskies for every type of drinker imaginable.

Glen Mhor Distillery

Glen Mhor distillery was built in 1892 and joined Diageo’s portfolio in 1972. It has very rarely appeared as a single malt except for the odd bottling by SMWS or Gordon & Macphail bottling. The distillery closed in 1983 and was demolished soon after. As such, any single malt from Glen Mhor has an air of rarity about it.
