Highland Park Distillery
A distillery with a huge reputation and has links, in many ways, to the priesthood (former owners who wanted to sell as it conflicted with their views), smuggling (Magnus Eunson – the original operator of illicit stills on site) and being part of the single malt whisky explosion before the 1980’s. Highland Distillers invested heavily in Highland Park throughout a lot of the late 1970’s, making its sales compete with some of the biggest in the world. Highland Park is now owned by The Edrington Group and boasts one of the first and best visitor’s centres in all of whisky, an education area, and a wealth of whiskies for every type of drinker imaginable.
Hart Brothers:
Hart Brothers dates back to the late 19th century when the family were licensed victualers and publicans in Paisley, a mill town on the outskirts of Glasgow.
In 1964, Iain & Donald Hart incorporated the company as Wine & Spirit Wholesalers and Scotch Whisky Blenders.
The company saw a significant addition in 1975 when Alistair Hart joined. As the chief blender, he had the responsibility of sourcing vintage casks of single malt whisky. Such casks were further matured under the Hart Brothers’ guidance before bottling.
Today, Hart Brothers are known for bottling rare and high age statement scotch whiskies, including the Finest Collection.
