Samaroli
Samaroli Srl was established in 1968, first as an importer of whisky, and forayed into bottling in 1979 with a series of Cadenhead dumpy bottlings. Following the success of this series, Samaroli fully entered into the industry as an independent bottler of Scotch whisky, the first outside the UK. Samaroli was a pioneer of cask strength bottlings in the mid to late eighties and was regarded as a visionary and a master of cask selection. Samaroli bottlings have become world famous and incredibly sought after on the secondary market, and this Glen Cawdor 1964 is no exception.
Ardbeg Distillery
For a lot of whisky drinkers, Ardbeg is the number one distillery when it comes to huge, smoky, classic west coast single malts. Despite huge demand and a growing reputation as a collectors malt, Ardbeg is still a relatively small distillery producing just 2,100,000 litres per year. It is amazing to think that just over a decade ago the distillery only had three core range bottles and a handful of limited-edition releases. Ardbeg has had a tumultuous history. From multiple changes of ownership to becoming one of the most in-demand distilleries in the world, Ardbeg had been through it all.
