The Macallan Concepts series is a limited collection of three annual release bottles of Macallan. The NAS whisky is intended to showcase “the artistry and expertise behind The Macallan’s whisky-making” in a fusion with culture.
Macallan Concept 1 was created around the idea of “daring to disrupt the process”, going against the norms of whisky-making at Macallan and maturing this whisky first in sherry casks, then in bourbon casks. This is a subversion of the traditional way of double-maturing whisky; maturing in bourbon casks first, and then finishing the whisky in sherry casks to give that sweet and fruity sherry taste.
Macallan Concept 2 is based on the cultural art form of music, and the similarities between making music and making whisky. This release is a favourite of Macallan Whisky Maker Steve Bremner who, as well as making whisky, is a house DJ. Bremner curated a playlist inspired by Macallan Concept 2 that you can find on Spotify.
Macallan Concept 3 was created to fuse the delicate art of whisky-making with the bold expression of graphic design. This whisky was created by Polly Logan, Whisky Maker at Macallan, in collaboration with the graphic designer, David Carson. Carson designed the label and box for the release, and Polly Logan ensured that Concept 3 would reflect the careful approach taken by both artists to their craft.
Condition
In very good condition. Capsules, labels and boxes are very good examples of this bottle.
Macallan Distillery
